Lecture 10 - Group Discussion and Meetings

Meeting with Facilitators and Vibes teams:

To organise and suss this week:

- Plastic Bags for the bags to hand out to people
- Numbers for people handing in bags etc. - numbers on booklets
- Fully finish booklets
- Refine video

Lecture 8 - Final Market Together

The new final layout we have tried together and decided this works well:

Things our stall still needs:

- Dangly thing for hallway and exit

- More sheets for on-top of tables

- Books all written in with maps and facts about each stall

- Return tray for books

- Updated equipment list

- Tshirts for group 

- Coat check?

Equipment we need: 

- Whiteboard

Critiques:

From here we got a preliminary approval pending on equipment needed list being updated. 

The teachers said with our booklets we should really include more impacting information and facts about the stalls apposed to a description of the stall someone is going to walk in in 5 seconds and see anyway. 

We could also investigate from seeing other markets whether there is a need for a coat rack, we could use our booklets as an exchange for their clothing and by handing the numbered book back we would give them their numbered item/s back as well.

We also discussed the video, our video we are making to tell people outside the market and people who didn't come to the market about the market and the processes we went through as a collective to create this market space. Originally we were making the video to show at the entrance but this isn't needed and in-fact we have now decided our video is to be shown to others so they can learn about the market and the paper more so we will not be showing the video at the entrance. 

Also things to decide and remember as a group:

- Do we have a roster ? How and what are we all doing at the market on the day?

- Write up our pitch to say as people come in to the market 

- We need to document our stall specifically as well.

Lecture 7 - Working on content of booklet

Group Discussion - 

We also discussed that there is only allowed to be 170 people on the floor at once so once we take out our class there will only be 90 people walking around, so we will monitor the books to 1 between 2 people to keep tabs on the numbers of people and once we run out of the booklets we will have to stop the flow of people coming in, whilst people wait they can watch the video of the market to date.

Committee meeting -

In the committee meeting Zoe and Laya continued writing on our booklets whilst I (Kristen) attended the committee meeting, in the meeting we discussed the form which we need to have what we need confirmed so that the organising group can send away saying exactly what we need. 

Every stall also needs a health form - this form will be posted in the Facebook group. 

Next Week: 

We are having a whole practice of the market on floor D. - From this we will have a set plan of the market layout for our books.

Lecture 6 - Prototype Market

Prototype Market:

- The entrance needs to be clearer, where is the "start" of your market and where is the direction people go?

- We should be in a better positioning, where is the first point of contact? The top of the stairs. This is where we should be for our market. 

- Dropbox for books at the end of the market so that we can re-use them

- Video somewhere else as well? SO when people are waiting to come into the market there is space for them to stop and watch the pre-video of the market

- Make the most of the space we have at the top of the stairs

- Really use our positioning to take charge of the flow of our space

Reflection on our market:

Our market went really well, we have a good concept and I filmed a lot of clips from around our market to put into a short video to display.
From here we will develop our booklets and I will develop the video together
We will also need to develop more signage etc.

Each booklet has 6 leaves of paper, or 7 if including a bubble wrap cover, 16 pages are needed for the entire book which must all be written on.

Lecture 5

33 - Making the pallet's furniture. Building and using furniture. 

34 - Coffee - informing the people about the entire process of coffee - using waste from coffee for furniture or to plant further. 

36 - Using cardboard - to interact with people to pick a plant and plant a plant in something recycled - use their coffee grinds as their soil.

38 - We would like to do the marketing and welcoming to the market, for this you cannot market out of the paper

Team Meeting:

Next couple weeks plan -

-> Have an idea in our team to pitch that we would really like to do.
-> For next week have set what we would like to do so that we are ready for the prototype market in week 6.

For our "product" should we have a webpage with further information??

Think about a group timeline.

Where we will have our space - choosing where, internet/power needed? How much room? Interactive what do we need?

Thinking about structures - As a collective what structure would we like?
Make sure on slides they are getting too 'wordy' use diagrams and images.

Communicate, share the project blog, think about file management, doodle poll - for meeting up, facebook group with entire stream?

Lecture 3

Presidents form of currency, trade, time/labor and gifting: 

Brainstorming as a collective we looked and investigated what types of currency if any we would like as a team. 

Our team decided we liked the idea of someone bringing some Koha/donations optionally but all up we did not want to detour people from coming to our market place so would rather have people come if they would like or were walking past, instead of having to go out of their way to get what is needed to be allowed in.
